Climate mobilities in African cities
This community-led research provides an underrepresented local perspective of environmental mobility in Accra, Dar es Salaam, Freetown, and Monrovia. The project highlights community experiences and generates evidence to support policies that address the needs of migrants and host communities.
Environmental change and its interaction with other migration drivers shape human movements. However, there is little knowledge of the trajectories and outcomes of these migration journeys.
Climate Mobilities focuses on the places of arrival and provides a space for people’s experiences with migration and resettlement. The inclusion of local voices is necessary to address mobility, vulnerability, and support successful adaptation through migration.
